The North American Vegetarian Society is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization that advocates for healthy, compassionate and ecological living. Founded in 1974, NAVS promotes veganism through events, educational literature and support for its members.
OUR PROGRAMS INCLUDE:
Vegan Summerfest is a leading annual educational conference that is open to anyone interested in learning more about veganism. The event, which attracts hundreds of attendees of all ages and backgrounds, features lectures, classes, demonstrations and fun activities.
NAVS launched World Vegetarian Day on Oct. 1, 1977. Endorsed by the International Vegetarian Union in 1978, World Vegetarian Day is designed to promote the joy, compassion and life-enhancing possibilities of veganism.
